Onam, the most vibrant and cherished festival of Kerala, will be celebrated on 27 August 2025 (Wednesday). Rooted in mythology, it honours the homecoming of the beloved King Mahabali — a ruler who once brought a golden era to Kerala. The festival unites people across caste, religion, and culture in celebration of gratitude and abundance.
According to ancient Hindu mythology, King Mahabali was a generous and just ruler loved by his people. However, the go
As Ganesh Chaturthi falls on 1st September 2025 (Monday), excitement is already building up across India. From Mumbai’s grand pandals to eco-friendly Ganesha trends, people are looking for how to celebrate it in a meaningful and unique way. Search trends show interest in Ganpati decoration ideas, visarjan dates, eco-friendly clay idols, and historical roots of Lord Ganesha’s birth.
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Ganesha — the god of wisdom, prosperity, and remover of obstacles. The festival lasts 10 days, from the installation of the Ganesha idol to the grand visarjan (immersion) ceremony.
According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha was created by Goddess Parvati from sandalwood paste to guard her while she bathed. When Lord Shiva unknowingly beheaded him, Parvati was heartbroken. To console her, Shiva brought Ganesha back to life using the head of an elephant — giving birth to the beloved elephant-headed god we know today.
People bring home Ganesha idols or visit public pandals, chant Vedic hymns and offer sweets like Modaks. Every day involves Aarti, bhajans, and community meals. On the final day — Anant Chaturdashi — the idol is immersed in water with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya!”
This year, search interest has risen in sustainable practices — like seed Ganeshas, natural colours, and digital darshans. Eco-conscious Gen Z and millennials are choosing smaller idols, home visarjan, and biodegradable decoration materials.
In Mumbai, Lalbaugcha Raja continues to attract millions. In Pune, Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati sees beautiful traditional celebrations. Southern India celebrates with equal devotion, especially in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka under the name "Pillaiyar Chaturthi".
