What is the SSC Exam & Why It Matters

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exams are conducted to recruit candidates for various Group B and C posts in the central government. Many of us see it as a gateway to a secure, respected, and stable career. Through this post, I’m sharing everything — not as an expert, but as someone who's preparing just like you.

Types of SSC Exams & Eligibility

There are several SSC exams based on qualification and post level:

• SSC CGL (Graduate Level)
• SSC CHSL (10+2 Level)
• SSC MTS (10th Pass)
• SSC GD Constable
• SSC JE (Engineering)
• SSC Stenographer

Most exams have an age limit between 18–32 years (varies per post) and Indian nationality is mandatory.

How to Register for SSC Exams

Follow these steps to apply for SSC exams online:

• 🔗 Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
• 📝 Click on “Register Now” under the “Login” tab.
• 👤 Fill basic details: name, Aadhaar, education, mobile, email, etc.
• 📤 Upload photo and signature as per instructions.
• 🧾 Choose the exam you're applying for (e.g., CGL, CHSL, etc.).
• 💳 Pay the fee: ₹100 (General), Free for SC/ST/Female candidates.
• ✅ Submit and download your application form for safety.

My Personal SSC Preparation Strategy

I began with basics. I divided subjects into slots:

• 📚 Morning – Quantitative Aptitude (RS Aggarwal)
• 🧠 Afternoon – Reasoning Practice (Previous Year Questions)
• 🗞️ Evening – General Awareness + Current Affairs
• 📖 Night – English Grammar & Vocabulary (Wren & Martin)

Don’t try to study everything at once. Mock tests are very important. Start with one test a week, then increase frequency.

How to Check SSC Results

To check results when declared:

• Go to https://ssc.gov.in
• Click on the “Results” tab at the top.
• Select the exam category (e.g., CGL, CHSL).
• Click on the PDF link – search your Roll Number in the file.

Usually results are published in stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, and so on. Keep checking regularly during the post-exam period.

SSC Result Date (2025)
